Duck Egg Blue Bedroom
To help I will give you an example. Lets work with a bedroom. One day I was shopping in one of my favourite shops Early Settler – I’m not making any money from mentioning them I just love this shop and came across this beautiful piece of art, a print yes but I loved it!
Amazing colour was my first thought. Second was to use it as the focal point as the entry to the bedroom looked directly at a bland white wall which was the first thing seen. Third thought how should I decorate the rest of the room?
PLAIN or NOT?? WHITE or COLOUR?
Plain is not my style and white I use a lot. I felt colour was needed to really make the room pop.
Duck Egg Blue was the final decision!
Some may cringe at the word feature wall however if painted to create interest they can look fantastic. And easily changed if you decide to update décor. Another upside is that potential buyers can see it’s not a big drama to paint out one wall.
Colours that go with Duck Egg Blue.
Duck Egg Blue goes extremely well with white and other greens and blues close in the colour spectrum hence I decided teal and aqua should be part of the scheme. The rest of the room I painted white- Lexicon ¼ strength- Dulux.

Be a Maximalist.
With the room taking shape you can see it’s more about the styling, being creative within the rules.
Add more – albeit in small doses- add layers of colour, fabric and accessories to complete the look.
Even though the room looks colourful it ‘s basically all white with one duck egg feature wall and style that is maximalist. The styling is where the colour comes from.
Cha-ching $$$. Colour need not be scary and if done correctly can maximise sale potential.
